Louisiana to Take on Houston in 46th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl
The holiday season is around the corner and the matchup is now set for the 46th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, as the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns from the Sun Belt Conference will face off against the Houston Cougars of the American Athletic Conference (AAC). Kickoff for college football’s 11th most-historic bowl game is set for 2 p.m. CST on Friday, December 23 at Independence Stadium.
Recipients of 17th Annual Willis-Knighton/Independence Bowl Community Service Scholarships Announced
For 17 consecutive years, the Independence Bowl Foundation has partnered with the Willis-Knighton Health System to award two $2,500 Community Service Scholarships – one to a graduating senior from each of Caddo and Bossier Parishes, and the 2022 recipients of the Willis-Knighton/Independence Bowl Community Service Scholarship are Kyleigh Tree from Benton High School and Hannah Beth Herrington from Northwood High School

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl and Sun Belt Conference announced that the bowl and conference have entered into a backup agreement, which will be in place through the 2025-26 Bowl Season.
Inaugural Innovation Bowl Pushes Toward Project Submissions
Radiance Technologies and the Independence Bowl Foundation partnered in 2022 to establish a new event with the goal of encouraging innovative approaches to a current research and development topics – the Radiance Technologies Innovation Bowl. The teams for the inaugural Innovation Bowl have been submitted, and there are six teams from four different universities preparing to submit their projects.
