Bob Stoops Named Member of 2021 College Football Hall of Fame Class

Former Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops was named as one of the two coaches in this illustrious class. Stoops led his 1999 Oklahoma Sooners to the Independence Bowl – the final college football game of the 20th century against the Ole Miss Rebels. Despite falling to David Cutcliffe’s Rebels, Stoops led Oklahoma to a National Championship victory the next year in 2000 – the lone National Championship of his head coaching career.

I-Bowl to Offer Multiple Options for Ticket Buyers and Sponsors of 2020 Game

After the announcement that the 2020 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will not be played, the Independence Bowl Foundation plans to offer multiple options to ticket buyers and sponsors.

2020 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Canceled

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will not be played this year. The Independence Bowl Foundation was very excited to host the Army West Point Black Knights and a representative of the Pac-12 Conference in Shreveport on Saturday, December 26, however, after 44 consecutive years of exciting football, the opting-out of possible teams created a lack of teams available to play in bowl games and the 2020 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl.

ESPN, I-Bowl Agree to Six-Year Extension

The nation’s 11th-oldest bowl game has a tradition of being televised on ESPN networks, and that tradition will last at least another six years, as the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl and ESPN have reached an agreement covering the 2020-2025 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowls.

Joseph M. Cosumano, Jr. to Receive 2020 Omar N. Bradley "Spirit of Independence" Award

Some of America’s most outstanding and decorated citizens and groups have been honored with the Omar N. Bradley “Spirit of Independence” Award – presented each year at the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, and the Independence Bowl Foundation has selected retired United States Army Lieutenant General Joseph M. Cosumano, Jr. as the 44th recipient of the prestigious award.

Radiance Technologies to be Title Sponsor from 2020-24

Radiance Technologies is the new title sponsor of the Independence Bowl, Shreveport-Bossier City’s annual college football bowl game. The agreement between Radiance Technologies and the Independence Bowl is a guaranteed, five-year agreement that will begin with the 2020 edition of the game and run through 2024.
