“Show Your Independence” Art Contest Returns for 11th Year

SHREVEPORT, La. (Oct. 15, 2025) – One of the numerous community initiatives hosted by the Independence Bowl Foundation, the “Show Your Independence” Art Contest returns for its 11th year in 2025. Contest sheets were distributed to schools across Caddo, Bossier and DeSoto Parishes.

The contest is presented by Willis Knighton Health, Harrison Paint Co. and The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate. The “Show Your Independence” Art Contest invites students to show off their creativity by drawing what Independence means to them in the spirit of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. All K-12 students in Caddo, Bossier and DeSoto Parishes are eligible to participate. One entry per student is allowed. 

One winner per grade, per school, will be selected, and the winners will receive an award certificate and one free ticket to the 2025 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. All winning artwork will be displayed at the FCA Breakfast during Bowl Week on Saturday, December 27 at 7:30 a.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center.

The 49th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl kicks off on Tuesday, December 30 at 1 p.m. CST between the Big 12 Conference and Conference USA.
