Radiance Technologies Innovation Bowl Finalists Revealed

 

SHREVEPORT, La. (Dec. 20, 2023) – Radiance Technologies and the Independence Bowl Foundation are proud to announce the finalists of the second-annual Radiance Technologies Innovation Bowl. The Innovation Bowl is an academic competition between schools affiliated with the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl and is sponsored by both Radiance Technologies and the Independence Bowl Foundation. 

Student-led teams compete for a $25,000 grand prize in two phases. During the Fall Semester, teams formulate their idea by demonstrating the feasibility of their concept. In the second phase during the Spring semester, they further develop their idea into a demonstration. This year’s topic is Micro-Electronic Packaging. Radiance Technologies received submissions from numerous schools and announced the finalists during the game at the 2023 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl between Texas Tech and California. The finalists are listed below.

University of Utah’s submission: “Investigation of Forced Convection Heat Transfer to Supercritical Carbon Dioxide in an Additively Manufactured Cold Plate.”

Louisiana Tech University’s submission: “Thermal Solutions to Enable Tighter Integration of Chiplets in Advanced Packages.”

These two finalist teams will further develop their ideas and present their findings in person at a Radiance facility this spring. The winning team will be awarded with the $25,000 grand prize.

ABOUT THE RADIANCE TECHNOLOGIES INDEPENDENCE BOWL™

Established in 1976, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl™ is college football’s 11th most-historic bowl game – celebrated its 47th edition on Saturday, December 16, 2023. The Texas Tech Red Raiders defeated the California Golden Bears, 34-14. The Independence Bowl Foundation announced a one-year extension with Radiance Technologies – ensuring they will be the title sponsor through 2025. The bowl’s conference, team, and television agreements also run through the 2025 season. Army West Point and the Big 12 are slated to match up against a rotation of the Pac-12 Conference, American Athletic Conference and Conference USA, which will be televised on an ESPN network.

The Independence Bowl Foundation is prevalent in the Shreveport-Bossier City area throughout the year, hosting events to help enhance the economic impact and growth of our community.
