46th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl to Kick off on Friday, December 23

The date for the 46th edition of Shreveport’s annual bowl game is set, as the 2022 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will kick off on the afternoon of Friday, December 23 at on ESPN.

Louisiana Tech and Centenary Among Coaches for 2022 Youth Football Clinic

The 11th Annual Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is just over two weeks away on Saturday, June 4, and many of the regions best college football programs are set to be represented by coaches at the clinic. Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State, Centenary College, Sam Houston State, Southern University-Shreveport and East Texas Baptist University coaches will be on hand to coach the youth at the annual clinic.

$4,468 Donated to Local Charities Through 1st & Give Flag Football Tournament

The Independence Bowl Foundation hosted the second annual 1st & Give Charity Flag Football Tournament on Saturday, May 7 at Independence Stadium, and the nine-team tournament helped raise a total of $4,468 in donations for nine different 501(c)3 charitable organizations.

The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Football Hall of Fame announced on Monday, December 10 the 2022 College Football Hall of Fame Class – featuring Independence Bowl alumni LSU running back Kevin Faulk, Oklahoma defensive back Roy Williams and Missouri head coach Gary Pinkel. With three inductees in 2022, there will be 23 Independence Bowl alumni in the College Football Hall of Fame.

UAB Outduels No. 13 BYU 31-28 in 45th Independence Bowl

On a rainy and windy Saturday, the 45th Radiance Technologies turned in one of its finest games in a back-and-forth battle between the UAB Blazers and BYU Cougars. In what was one of the biggest victories in program history, UAB defeated No. 13 BYU 31-28 to earn their second bowl win in program history and first Independence Bowl victory.

For the 16th consecutive year, the Independence Bowl Foundation and Willis-Knighton Health System are partnering to award a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior from both Bossier and Caddo Parishes, and the 2021 recipients of the Willis-Knighton/Independence Bowl Foundation Community Service Scholarship are Brianna Cooley from Parkway High School and Ruhani Sachdeva from Caddo Parish Magnet High School.
