Kickoff K’s 5K and Half Marathon Hits the Streets This Weekend

Runners from all over the Ark-La-Tex will hit the streets of Shreveport this weekend, as the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Kickoff K’s 5K and Half Marathon is set for this Saturday, May 15.

The half marathon will kick off first at 7 a.m. – followed by the 5K shortly after at 7:15 a.m. Both races will start and finish at Fern Marketplace outside of Orangetheory Fitness – located at 1370 E 70th St, Shreveport, LA 71105. The half marathon route will travel through South Highland, as runners will get to enjoy the scenic streets of McCormick, Creswell, Thornhill, Ockley, Unadilla and Fairfield along the beautiful and challenging course.

Registration for the half marathon is $70 through Friday, May 14 and $30 for the 5K. Race day registration increases by $5 to $75 and $35 for the half marathon and 5K, respectively.

The overall male and female winner of the half marathon will receive a $1,000 cash prize, and the male and female winner from each age group (20 & Under, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over) will win $100. The overall men’s and women’s winners of the 5K will receive a $250 cash prize, and male and female age group winners will receive $50. All runners will receive a Kickoff K’s shirt, and all half marathon finishers will receive a medal.

The annual Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Kickoff K’s is managed by Sportspectrum and Sportspectrum Race Management.
