29 Local Educators to Receive $1,000 Donations from Independence Bowl

In partnership with the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiative, the Independence Bowl Foundation is set to donate $1,000 apiece to 29 local educators in 2025. The teachers receiving donations will be announced in December and recognized at the 2025 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Tuesday, December 30 at 1 p.m.

“Show Your Independence” Art Contest Returns for 11th Year

One of the numerous community initiatives hosted by the Independence Bowl Foundation, the “Show Your Independence” Art Contest returns for its 11th year in 2025. Contest sheets were distributed to schools across Caddo, Bossier and DeSoto Parishes.

Each year, the Independence Bowl Foundation honors one of our country’s most outstanding and decorated citizens or groups with the Omar N. Bradley Spirit of Independence Award, and 2025 brings one of the award’s most decorated recipients – General (Ret.) Charles A. Flynn.

Independence Bowl to Donate Over $11,000 to Local Teachers in 2023

In conjunction with Extra Yard for Teachers, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl donated nearly $1,800 to local teachers in the Shreveport-Bossier area on September 19. This donation is just the beginning of education and teacher funding by the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, as the bowl will donate at least $10,000 more to local teachers and education in 2023.
