Independence Bowl to Reveal Top 50 Players in the Game’s History Beginning on July 6

With such a long and rich history, there may be no better way to celebrate 50 years of Independence Bowl than to celebrate the stars who have come through Independence Stadium throughout the first 49 years of the game and helped fans create the memories they still talk about.

2nd Annual High School Football Media Day, Presented by Xpress Car Wash, Returns on August 4

After a successful inaugural event in 2025, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl is set to host the 2nd Annual High School Football Media Day, presented by Xpress Car Wash, on Tuesday, August 4 at Independence Stadium.

Independence Bowl to Transition Staff Leadership Structure

The Independence Bowl Foundation is announcing transitional changes to its current organizational structure, as announced on Monday, June 15.Current Director of Communications, Erik Evenson, will be elevated to the Executive Director position, and Missy Setters, the longtime executive director, will transition into a newly created role as Chief Operating Officer (COO). The transition will officially take place on August 15.

2021 Willis-Knighton Community Service Scholarship Recipients Announced

For the 16th consecutive year, the Independence Bowl Foundation and Willis-Knighton Health System are partnering to award a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior from both Bossier and Caddo Parishes, and the 2021 recipients of the Willis-Knighton/Independence Bowl Foundation Community Service Scholarship are Brianna Cooley from Parkway High School and Ruhani Sachdeva from Caddo Parish Magnet High School.

Bradley “Spirit of Independence” Award and Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year Award, respectively, at the 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

Jimmy Johnson and Alan Faneca Enshrined into Pro Football Hall of Fame

The annual Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement in Canton, Ohio featured twice the excitement this past weekend, as both the 2020 and 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame classes were enshrined due to a pandemic delay in 2020. Two alumni of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl were among those enshrined, as Jimmy Johnson and Alan Faneca celebrated the culminating moment of their careers in Canton.
