The Independence Bowl is more than just a football game, as demonstrated through the bowl’s 1st & Give program. Expand Energy, which operates natural gas production across Northwest Louisiana and is anchored by a regional office in Mansfield, has partnered with the Independence Bowl Foundation for the last two years – a partnership that helps support the bowl’s 1st & Give initiatives.

Maybe the biggest household name to ever play in the Independence Bowl enters the game’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team right outside the top 10, as former Southern Miss quarterback and Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre is named the number 11 player in Independence Bowl history.

This week’s Independence Bowl 50th Anniversary All-Time Team player release marks back-to-back players from the 1999 Oklahoma Sooners, as College Football Hall of Fame safety Roy Williams enters the list at number 12.
