Flyover for Independence Bowl to Feature Three B-52s
The 2021 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl kicks off at 2:30 p.m. CST, and the fans will be welcomed to the stadium with a unique flyover just before kickoff – featuring three B-52 bombers from Barksdale Air Force Base.

No. 13 BYU to Take the Field Against UAB in 45th Independence Bowl
The 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will kick off on Saturday, December 18 at 2:30 p.m. CST on ABC, and the matchup is set, as the No. 13 BYU Cougars will take on Conference USA’s UAB Blazers in Shreveport.
2021 Willis-Knighton Community Service Scholarship Recipients Announced
For the 16th consecutive year, the Independence Bowl Foundation and Willis-Knighton Health System are partnering to award a $2,500 scholarship to a graduating senior from both Bossier and Caddo Parishes, and the 2021 recipients of the Willis-Knighton/Independence Bowl Foundation Community Service Scholarship are Brianna Cooley from Parkway High School and Ruhani Sachdeva from Caddo Parish Magnet High School.

Joseph M. Cosumano, Jr. and Joe Delaney to be Honored at 2021 Independence Bowl
With the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl not being played in 2020, retired United States Army Lieutenant General Joseph M. Cosumano, Jr. and Joe Delaney will be honored with the Omar N. Bradley “Spirit of Independence” Award and Carl Mikovich Sportsperson of the Year Award, respectively, at the 45th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Saturday, December 18, 2021.

Back for the first time since 2018, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Rally on the Red will feature a free night or fun for fans in downtown Shreveport-Bossier City.

$11,243 Donated to Local Teachers by Independence Bowl
Alongside the College Football Playoff Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl donated a total of $11,243 to local teachers in Caddo and Bossier Parishes.

Independence Bowl to Award Total of Over $10,000 to Local Teachers
he Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl – in conjunction with the College Football Playoff Foundation and Extra Yard for Teachers – will award area classrooms from Caddo, Bossier and DeSoto Parishes with a total of over $10,000 for education and enrichment programs.

Independence Bowl Foundation Announces 1st & Give & Charity Flag Football Tournament
The Independence Bowl Foundation and Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl introduced “1st & Give” – the new philanthropic endeavor of the bowl and foundation. The first event in this newly established endeavor will be the inaugural 1st & Give Charity Flag Football Tournament at Independence Stadium on Saturday, October 9.

Jimmy Johnson and Alan Faneca Enshrined into Pro Football Hall of Fame
The annual Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement in Canton, Ohio featured twice the excitement this past weekend, as both the 2020 and 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame classes were enshrined due to a pandemic delay in 2020. Two alumni of the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl were among those enshrined, as Jimmy Johnson and Alan Faneca celebrated the culminating moment of their careers in Canton.

10th Annual Youth Clinic Hits the Field This Weekend
The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is set to hit the field at Independence Stadium this Saturday, June 5 – with participants receiving instruction from former NFL players and regional college coaches.
