Junior Tennis Classic Featured Around 150 Youth Tennis Players from Across North America

For the third straight year, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl welcomed youth tennis players from across North America to Shreveport-Bossier City for the annual Independence Bowl Junior Tennis Classic. Nearly 150 players from 11 different states, as well as one player from Calgary, Alberta, made the trip to the 318 for the USTA National Level 5 tournament.

Bryan Roppolo Installed as 2023 Independence Bowl Foundation Chair

Bryan Roppolo, owner of Roppolo’s Insulation, was installed as the 2023 Chair of the Independence Bowl Foundation at the organization’s Annual Membership Meeting on Thursday, March 9. Roppolo took over for the past chair, Rob Rubel, on the same night that the Independence Bowl Foundation also voted in the new executive committee and board of directors.

Independence Bowl Presents $5,000 Checks to Fairfield Elementary Magnet and Bossier Parish School for Technology & Innovative Learning

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl completed its nearly $56,000 in education funding on Monday – presenting $5,000 checks each to Fairfield Elementary Magnet and Bossier Parish School for Technology & Innovative Learning. The $5,000 grant was awarded to each school to support programs to promote teacher retention, recruitment and recognition.

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII on February 12, and seven players between the two rosters will represent the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid is also an Independence Bowl alum himself.
