Coaches from Four Division I Football Programs to Lead Instruction at 2026 Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic

SHREVEPORT, La. (May 21, 2026) – The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic returns for its 15th edition in less than a month on Saturday, June 6 from 8-11 a.m. at Independence Stadium, and this year, campers will get to learn from coaches from Louisiana Tech, Northwestern State, Sam Houston State and ULM.

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is a free, non-contact clinic for boys and girls ages five through 13 (incoming eighth graders). Registration for the clinic is limited to the first 400 registrants, so parents are encouraged to register their child in advance at IndependenceBowl.org/youth-football-clinic.

Clinic participants will learn football fundamentals and conditioning drills through a variety of instruction and drills, as well as receive free lunch from Dillas Primo Quesadillas and a free t-shirt courtesy of SportsWorld at the conclusion of the clinic.

The clinic begins at 8 a.m. at Independence Stadium on Saturday, June 6. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. in the southwest entrance of the stadium. A limited number of walk-up registrations will be available on the morning of the clinic. Walk-ups should arrive in the southwest entrance at 7 a.m. A parent or guardian must complete a waiver for their child upon check-in at the clinic on the morning of the event for the child to participate.

15th Annual Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic Hits the Field on Saturday, June 6

SHREVEPORT, La. (April 13, 2026) – A summer staple on the Independence Bowl Foundation’s slate of year-round community events, the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic returns to Independence Stadium for its 15th edition on Saturday, June 6 from 8-11 a.m.

“Opportunities like this youth clinic are so powerful because they give young people a chance to learn, compete, and grow in a positive environment,” said Keith Burton, 2026 Independence Bowl Foundation Chairman. “The Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic has become a strong tradition in our community, and we are grateful for the coaches and volunteers who invest their time in our children. It will be a great morning at Independence Stadium, and I encourage families across our area to take advantage of it.”

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is a free, non-contact clinic and is open to boys and girls ages five through 13 (incoming eighth graders). Registration for the clinic is limited to the first 400 registrants, so parents are encouraged to register their child for the clinic in advance at IndependenceBowl.org/youth-football-clinic.

Clinic participants will learn football fundamentals and conditioning drills through a variety of instruction and drills from a wide range of FBS and FCS football coaches and staff. All campers receive free lunch and a free t-shirt at the conclusion of the clinic.

Each year, campers receive instruction from regional college football coaches and staffers. Current football players and coaches from Louisiana Tech, ULM, Sam Houston State, Northwestern State, Centenary College and Southern University-Shreveport instructed clinic participants in 2025.

The clinic begins at 8 a.m. at Independence Stadium on Saturday, June 6. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. in the southwest entrance of the stadium. Louisiana Tech Players and Regional College Coaches to Lead 14th Annual Youth Football Clinic

SHREVEPORT, La. (June 2, 2025) – The 14th annual Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is approaching quickly, and participants in the Saturday, June 7 clinic will get to learn from Louisiana Tech football players and regional college football coaches this year.

Redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Roy Brackins III, redshirt senior defensive lineman Zion Nason, redshirt freshman linebacker James Predtechenskis and redshirt junior wide receiver Jay Wilkerson are the Bulldogs’ players who will be instructors at the clinic this year. Brackins and Wilkerson started for Louisiana Tech against Army in the 2024 Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. Nason also tallied four tackles in the game. As is customary for the clinic, regional college coaches from Louisiana Tech, ULM, Sam Houston State, Northwestern State, Centenary and SUSLA will also be teaching the clinic participants.

The clinic is a free, non-contact clinic that offers local boys and girls from ages five through incoming eighth graders an opportunity to learn from regional college football coaches.

Parents are encouraged to register their children by Wednesday, June 4 and can do so at RadianceTechnologiesIndependenceBowl.com/youth-football-clinic. Spots are limited to 400 participants, so pre-registering in advance is the best way to secure a place. Parents must complete a waiver for their child upon arrival on the day of the Youth Football Clinic. Children will also learn essential fitness techniques and the importance of being physically active by D1 Training sports fitness training staff.

Parents will need to submit their child’s waiver agreement at this time. The first Independence Bowl Foundation member event of the year – the Annual Member Crawfish Boil – is back for the second straight year in the East Bank District in Bossier City. The Member Crawfish Boil is on Saturday, April 15 from 1-4 p.m. in Hurricane Alley in the East Bank District – behind Beauxjax Crafthouse, Bayou Axe Co. and Frozen Pirogue.

All active Independence Bowl Foundation members will receive two wristbands for all-you-can-eat crawfish and jambalaya from Shaver’s Catering. The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Clinic provides boys and girls with an opportunity to learn football fundamentals by participating in offensive, defensive and special teams drills from regional college football coaches and former NFL players. Youth will also learn different important fitness techniques and the importance of being physically active. All participants will receive a free lunch following the clinic and a free t-shirt.

ON THE DOCKET – INDEPENDENCE BOWL FOUNDATION MEMBER CRAWFISH BOIL

The Member Crawfish Boil is back for 2022 in a new location. All active Independence Bowl Foundation members will receive two wristbands for all-you-can-eat crawfish and jambalaya from Shaver’s Catering. The boil will be at Hurricane Alley in the East Bank District of Bossier City (located behind BeauxJax Crafthouse, Bayou Axe Co. and Frozen Pirogue) on Saturday, April 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

10th Annual Youth Clinic Hits the Field This Saturday

The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl Youth Football Clinic is set to hit the field at Independence Stadium this Saturday, June 5 – with participants receiving instruction from former NFL players and regional college coaches.

The Youth Clinic is a free clinic and open to youth from five-years-old through incoming eighth-graders. The clinic will kick off at 8 a.m. and run until approximately 11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 7 a.m. at the southwest entrance of Independence Stadium.

Participants will receive instruction from former NFL players Liffort Hobley and Andrew Givens, as well as regional college coaches from the FCS National Champions Sam Houston State, Northwestern State, Louisiana College and Southern University-Shreveport. They will also receive a free t-shirt and lunch following the clinic.

The annual Youth Football Clinic teaches participants football fundamentals by participating in offensive, defensive and special team drills. ON THE DOCKET: KICKOFF DINNER WITH MARCUS SPEARS

Following this weekend’s Youth Football Clinic, the next Independence Bowl Foundation event on the docket is the Kickoff Dinner on Saturday, July 10 at 6 p.m. – with former LSU and Dallas Cowboys defensive end and current ESPN NFL analyst Marcus Spears as the featured speaker.

The annual Kickoff Dinner is slated for Saturday, July 10 at the Shreveport-Convention Center. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m., while the program begins at 6:45 p.m. Spears will begin speaking at approximately 7:15 p.m. with a brief audience Q&A to follow. The doors to the Shreveport Convention Center will open at 5:30 p.m.

Individual tickets to the 2021 Kickoff Dinner are $50 apiece, while a table for eight is $400 apiece.
