Drew Maulsby Named Director of Partnership Development

SHREVEPORT, La. (April 4, 2023) – The Independence Bowl Foundation welcomed the newest staff member to Shreveport on Tuesday – naming Drew Maulsby as the organization’s Director of Partnership Development.

In his role, Maulsby will be tasked with leading the efforts of corporate partnership and membership development of the Independence Bowl Foundation and Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl. He will also lead the way in sponsorship fulfillment and work alongside game management committee members and game-day experience partner Venue Edge to create an entertaining game-day experience for Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl fans.

Maulsby moves to Shreveport with his wife, Jessica, and their daughter, Hadley. He brings experience from all levels of sports – including Major League Baseball, Minor League Baseball and collegiate athletics.

Before moving to Shreveport, he was the Area Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in the Piney Woods region. Maulsby played an integral role in developing the Piney Woods region through board development, talent advancement and ministry multiplication. During his time with FCA, he and his team distributed over 500 Bibles to coaches and athletes, provided multiple scholarships for student-athletes to attend summer camp and established FCA huddles on middle school, high school, and college campuses.

Before joining FCA, Maulsby served in ticket sales leadership positions with two NCAA Division I universities. He was General Manager for Ticket Sales with Learfield Amplify/Stephen F Austin State University from 2019-2021 and the Manager of Ticket Sales and Service with The Aspire Group/The University of Northern Iowa from 2018-2019. At SFA, Maulsby helped pioneer a Mobile First ticketing initiative, making the overall ticketing and game day experience much better for ‘Jacks fans. Drew also played a crucial role in adding ticketed sports at both Stephen F Austin State and Northern Iowa – leading to a significant increase in revenue for both universities.

Maulsby spent the first five years of his professional career in baseball. Nearing completion of his undergraduate degree from Sam Houston State University, he completed an internship in 2012 with the Houston Astros in their sponsorship department. Drew landed his first full-time position with the Round Rock Express in 2014, where he was an Account Executive for two seasons. Former Express President Jay Miller moved to Sugar Land to take over as President for the Skeeters and invited Maulsby to join him as a Sales Manager from 2015-2017.
